Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported the arrest of a Raceland couple after investigating allegations of physical abuse and rape involving four children. Brandy Triche (27, W/F) of 388 Greenville Street, is charged with physically abusing the children, while her boyfriend, Christopher Gaudet (30, B/M) is charged with aggravated rape of three of the children in addition to physical abuse.

On Tuesday, July 15, deputies responded to a complaint of possible physical and sexual abuse of a child by Christopher Gaudet. Juvenile detectives also responded and began an investigation. Detectives could see visible bruising on the child’s body and learned Gaudet had allegedly punched the child. Through questioning of all parties involved and further investigation, detectives discovered a history of alleged physical abuse of four children, all under the age of 13, by Triche and Gaudet. Detectives also learned Gaudet allegedly forced three of the children to engage in sexual activity with him.

Detectives made contact with Triche and Gaudet on Wednesday, July 17. Following questioning, both were placed under arrest and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux.

Gaudet was booked with three counts of Aggravated Rape and four counts of Cruelty to Juveniles with Force/Violence (Child Endangerment). He is currently being held in lieu of $350,000 bond as set by Judge F. Hugh Larose. Triche was booked with four counts of Cruelty to Juveniles with Force/Violence (Child Endangerment). She is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond as set by Judge Larose.

Due to the nature of the investigation and the age of the victims, no further details will be released regarding the alleged incidents or the nature of the relationships between the offenders and victims.
