Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported the arrest of three people, including a Golden Meadow Police Officer, in connection to a methamphetamine investigation. Officer Ashley Pollard (37, B/M) and his girlfriend, Anna King (31, W/F), both of 113 West 82nd Street in Cut Off, were arrested on Monday along with Pollard’s brother, Courtney Pollard (33, B/M) of 2016 South Bayou Drive in Golden Meadow.

The Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force began actively investigating the case in April 2014. Through the investigation, agents learned the Pollards allegedly produced methamphetamine for personal use, and King purchased pseudoephedrine and other products for methamphetamine production. Agents obtained arrest warrants for all three individuals, as well as a search warrant for the residence in which Ashley Pollard and King reside.

On Monday, July 21, agents met with Ashley Pollard at the Criminal Operations Center in Lockport and questioned him regarding the investigation. During questioning, he confessed to his participation in manufacturing methamphetamine for personal use. Pollard told investigators he used methamphetamine to help cope with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder he says he developed following overseas deployments with both the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps. Agents also made contact with King and Courtney Pollard on Monday and placed them under arrest. During a subsequent search of the Cut Off residence, agents discovered additional evidence of the manufacturing process.

All three were placed under arrest and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux. They were booked with one count each of Creation/Operation of a Clandestine Laboratory for the Unlawful Manufacture of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. All three were released on Monday after posting bond. Judge F. Hugh Larose had set Ashley Pollard’s bond at $10,000 and had set King’s bond at $5,000, while Courtney Pollard’s bond had been set at $25,000. Courtney Pollard’s criminal history includes 14 prior arrests for several charges, including various battery charges, drug possession and several counts of contempt of court. Ashley Pollard and King do not have prior criminal histories.

Golden Meadow Chief of Police Reggie Pitre said Ashley Pollard has resigned from the Golden Meadow Police Department and issued the following statement regarding Pollard’s arrest:  “I am sorely disappointed in the actions of this former officer. The Golden Meadow Police Department has no tolerance for criminal behavior, and we want to reassure the public that this officer’s actions are not a reflection on our department as a whole. My sincere hope is that this ultimately results in him getting the treatment and help he needs.”
