At around 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle after noticing the driver was not wearing his seat belt. Deputies made contact with the driver and identified him as Zachary Ordoyne (W/M, D.O.B. 02/22/87) of 104 Maple Lane in Thibodaux. When asked why he wasn’t wearing a seat belt, Ordoyne told the deputies his dog “ate it.” While speaking to Ordoyne, deputies detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, and Ordoyne’s speech was slurred. He admitted to consuming an alcoholic beverage and showed deputies a half-full bottle of an alcoholic beverage in his vehicle. Deputies administered a standardized field sobriety test on which Ordoyne performed poorly. Ordoyne later submitted to a breathalyzer test which showed him to have a blood alcohol level of .104g%. He was placed under arrest and booked in to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center for DWI (3rd Offense), Possession of an Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle, and not wearing his seat belt. He is being held in lieu of $50,150 bond as set by Judge Walter Lanier III.
