3/10/2014 by Brennan Matherne

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of a Galliano woman for her 4th DWI offense. Deputies arrested Melissa Richoux (W/F, D.O.B. 07/30/68) of 176 West 59th Street in Galliano early Monday morning following a traffic stop in Galliano.
Just after 1:30 a.m. on Monday, March 10, patrol deputies in the Galliano area noticed a pickup truck with a nonfunctioning tail lamp pull into a shopping center parking lot located on LA Highway 308 near the South Lafourche Lift Bridge. After the truck came to a stop, deputies made contact with the driver, identified as Melissa Richoux, and immediately detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage being emitted from her breath. She was also showing signs of possible intoxication, and there was also an open bottle of an alcoholic beverage in the center console. Deputies conducted a Standardized Field Sobriety Test on which Richoux performed poorly. A breathalyzer test revealed her to have a blood alcohol concentration of 0.17g%.
Richoux was placed under arrest and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where she was booked with DWI (4th Offense), Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in a Motor Vehicle, and improper tail lights. She remains in jail in lieu of $45,500 bond as set by Judge John LeBlanc.
