Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a Thibodaux man has been arrested and charged in two separate incidents at the home of an ex-girlfriend. On Friday, deputies arrested Roland Price III (B/M, D.O.B. 06/18/69) of 101 Park Avenue for the most recent incident, and he was also booked on outstanding warrants from the first incident.
At around 3:30 a.m. on Friday, April 4, deputies responded to a residence on Plymouth Street in the Marydale Community in reference to Price causing a disturbance at the residence. Price had active warrants for Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, Felony Simple Criminal Damage to Property and two counts of Contempt of Court. Deputies learned he had arrived intoxicated at the residence of an ex-girlfriend, and he began causing a disturbance and refusing to leave. Upon arrival, deputies spotted Price at the rear of the residence, but he began fleeing on foot. Deputies caught up to Price and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Price’s person. As deputies attempted to detain Price, he resisted violently and refused to comply with deputies’ commands. At one point, Price struck one of the deputies in the face with his fist and ripped a portion of the deputy’s uniform. Deputies eventually utilized chemical spray, and Price was subdued into compliance.
Price was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where he was booked per the outstanding warrants. He was additionally booked with Battery of a Police Officer, Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence, Simple Criminal Damage to Property, and Disturbing the Peace (Appearing in an Intoxicated Condition). He is currently being held in lieu of $123,000 bond as set by Judge Jerome J. Barbera III and by the warrants.
The outstanding warrants for criminal damage stemmed from another incident at the same residence which occurred on February 28, 2014, wherein Price allegedly damaged a vehicle and damaged several items inside the residence. He had fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival, and warrants were issued for his arrest.
