Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported the arrest of a Cut Off man who stole over $1,000 in a burglary at a Larose motel. Ronnie Allen (B/M, D.O.B. 04/18/91) of 247 West 15th Street was arrested for an outstanding warrant and later admitted to committing the burglary.
At around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 6, deputies responded to a report of an aggravated burglary at motel located on LA Highway 1 in Larose. The male victim was reportedly asleep in his room when an unknown male subject, later identified as Allen, kicked down the door to the room and held the victim down to the bed demanding money. Allen eventually struck the victim in the face with an object and left the room after taking over $1,000 in cash.
After getting a description of the subject, deputies began patrolling nearby areas in search of him. Deputies eventually spotted a man fitting the subject’s description walking in the area of West 14th Street in Larose and identified him as Ronnie Allen. Deputies learned Allen had a warrant for Contempt of Court and he was placed under arrest. As deputies searched Allen’s person, they discovered him to be in possession of over $1,000 dollars in cash. Allen was questioned in reference to the burglary and gave a full confession to the crime.
Allen was booked with Aggravated Burglary and per the contempt warrant. He is being held in lieu of $102,500 bond as set by Judge Ashly Bruce Simpson, and he is also being held for Louisiana Probation and Parole.
