Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported the arrest of a Lockport man for allegedly shooting a woman during an altercation which also involved another man. Shane Joseph Boudreaux (W/M, D.O.B. 01/13/84) of 198 Linda Street was arrested following the incident.
At about 1:40 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, deputies received a call from Ochsner St. Anne Hospital in Raceland in reference to a female patient being treated for a gunshot wound to both legs which she sustained during an altercation at Boudreaux's Linda Street residence in Lockport. Detectives were called in to investigate and learned Boudreaux had been arguing with another man at the residence, and the argument eventually moved to the front porch and became physical. The woman was near the two men during the altercation, and at one point, Boudreaux allegedly struck her causing her to fall off the porch. The couple then attempted to flee in their vehicle, but Boudreaux allegedly fired a single .380-caliber round from a handgun into the vehicle, which traveled through the woman's right leg and into her left leg. The woman was transported to the hospital and was treated for her injuries. Back at the scene, detectives retrieved a .380-caliber casing and found the firearm which had been hidden inside a stereo speaker.
Boudreaux was arrested and charged with Aggravated Second Degree Battery and Simple Battery. He was also booked on an oustanding contempt warrant for Thibodaux City Court. He was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of $15,750 bond as set by Judge John LeBlanc and the warrant.
