Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported three people were charged with DWI offenses on during and after the Blue Light Special patrol on Halloween. Ricki Burnham (W/M, D.O.B. 10/11/80) of 113 East 177th Street in Golden Meadow and Dayne Andras (11/08/86) of 2264 Laurel Valley Road in Thibodaux were arrested for second offenses, while Sloane Breaux (W/F, D.O.B. 08/07/87) of 523 Highway 20 in Thibodaux was cited for her first offense.

At around 8:35 p.m., deputies in the Cut Off area spotted a vehicle traveling southbound on LA Highway 308 cross the center line multiple times and initiated a traffic stop. Deputies made contact with the driver and identified him as Burnham. Deputies detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Burnham’s breath and conducted a standardized field sobriety test, on which he poorly performed. Deputies also located an open container of alcohol in his vehicle. During the course of the stop, Burnham attempted to intimidate the deputies, stating he could have them fired. Burnham eventually submitted to a breathalyzer test which showed him to have a blood alcohol level of .142g%. Burnham was placed under arrest for DWI (2ndOffense), Public Intimidation, Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in Motor Vehicles, and improper lane usage. He was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center and is currently being held in lieu of $4, 350 bond as set by Judge John LeBlanc.

Earlier that evening, just before 7 p.m., deputies noticed a vehicle stopped in the lane of travel on Laurel Valley Road in Thibodaux with the driver-side door open and stopped to investigate. Upon approaching the vehicle, deputies noticed a man, later identified as Andras, about 100 yards away and made contact with him. Andras advised he had just stopped to catch a bullfrog, and deputies detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person. While speaking to Andras, Breaux moved from the passenger seat to the driver’s seat of the vehicle Andras had been driving and pulled up to the location where deputies were speaking to Andras. Upon making contact with Breaux, she too appeared to be intoxicated and deputies conducted field sobriety tests. Later, both submitted to a breathalyzer test on which Andras showed a blood alcohol content of .240g%, while Breaux showed a blood alcohol content of .124g%. Breaux was cited for DWI (1st Offense), and Andras was placed under arrest for DWI (2nd Offense) as well as Obstructing Public Passages and No Driver’s License. He was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center where he is currently being held in lieu of $2,700 bond as set by Judge LeBlanc, and he is also being held for Louisiana Probation and Parole.

This was Andras' second arrest in the last two months. While conducting a DWI checkpoint on LA Highway 20 in Chackbay on the night of Friday, September 20, Andras walked through the checkpoint and later began yelling at deputies using profanities which upset some vehicle occupants passing through the checkpoint. Deputies decided to transport Andras to his home, but upon arrival, he refused to give his name, and refused to cooperate with deputies. He was therefore arrested for Disturbing the Peace while Intoxicated and Resisting an Officer, and he was booked into the Detention Center where deputies were able to properly identify him. He was later released on bond.
