The following work detail rules must be adhered to. Failure to enforce these rules could result in loss of inmate labor.
- All inmate workers must wear L.P.C.C. uniforms at all times.
- Once the work is completed, the crew supervisor will proceed to his/her next scheduled detail. There will be no exceptions.
- There will be no more than five (5) inmate workers per crew supervisor unless authorized by the Warden.
- No inmate shall be out of sight of the inmate crew supervisor. No inmate will be taken to perform a work detail by a non-commissioned Law Enforcement Officer.
- If an inmate becomes disruptive the crew supervisor will call and have that inmate transported back to their respective correctional facility immediately.
- Inmate workers are not allowed to contact family or friends by phone or have personal visits. Deliveries of food, clothing, money or any other items from family or friends are not allowed. If family or friends approach the work area the crew supervisor will have them removed immediately.
- Inmate workers will be watched closely by the crew supervisor and site supervisor. They are not allowed to consume alcoholic beverages or illegal narcotics, nor are they allowed to smoke. No tobacco products of any kind are allowed.
- If an inmate worker escapes the remaining inmate workers will be placed in the unit and L.P.S.O. Communications will be notified immediately.
- Inmate workers shall be transported to and from work assignments in a safe manner. The crew supervisor is responsible for the safety of the inmates while under their supervision at all times.
- In the event that an inmate worker is injured the crew supervisor will suspend all work and address the concerns of the injured inmate.
- Inmates are not permitted in any unauthorized areas, work on or enter private property including business establishments, or to leave the parish.
- Inmates are not allowed the use of any telephonic devices, and or computer terminals while on detail.
- Inmates are not permitted to operate vehicles or maintenance equipment on public highways, streets, or roadways. Inmates must be trained to operate the equipment used.
- Inmates must be respectful to any staff member, law enforcement officer, officer of the court, co-workers, citizen, etc. at all times.
- Inmates have the obligation to report an infraction listed on this agreement; any violation of rules and regulations of the facility, and or any criminal acts.
