Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of Nicholas Chauvin and his brother, Christian Chauvin, both of Houma, on Friday. At around noon on Friday, January 13, agents with the Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force traveled to the residence of Nicholas Chauvin on Sandy Lane in Houma in reference to having two active warrants for Distribution of Methamphetamine. Upon arrival, agents made contact with Chauvin outside the residence and he was taken into custody without incident. They also made contact with his brother, Christian Chauvin. After obtaining a search warrant for the residence, the Lafourche Parish Combined Meth Lab Response Team entered the residence and discovered tools and items commonly associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine. At that time, Christian Chauvin was also arrested. Both were transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux and booked with Creation or Operation of a Clandestine Laboratory for the Unlawful Manufacture of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. Christian Chauvin’s bond is set at $50,000. Nicholas Chauvin was also booked on the aforementioned warrants for Distribution of Methamphetamine, and his bond is set at $85,000.
