Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of Eddie Clark III (age 20) of Thibodaux on Wednesday, June 14. Just before 8 pm on Wednesday, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Cedar Street in Thibodaux. Deputies identified the driver as Eddie Clark III, and they detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Deputies discovered Clark to be in possession of nearly five grams of marijuana and two pills identified as oxycodone and amphetamine. Deputies also discovered over 14 grams of a white powdery substance which could not be identified. At that time, Clark was placed under arrest. While in handcuffs, Clark attempted to flee on foot, but he was quickly apprehended. Clark was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where he was booked with Possession of Marijuana, Amphetamine, Oxycodone, and Drug Paraphernalia, as well as Possession with Intent to Distribute a Counterfeit Controlled Dangerous Substance, Simple Escape, and illegal window tint. His bond has not yet been set. All narcotics and the white powdery substance were sent to the Louisiana State Crime Lab for further analysis.
