Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred in the Thibodaux area on Wednesday afternoon.
At around 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, deputies responded to the intersection of Ridgefield Road and Carol Street in Thibodaux in reference to possible gunshots in the area, and a vehicle, possibly a white SUV, had fled the area at a high rate of speed. Deputies made contact with a witness who reportedly heard multiple gunshots and saw several men running away from the area. During a search of the area, deputies discovered bullet holes on the back side of a residence.
Detectives with the Thibodaux Police Department responded to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center after learning a man was being treated for a gunshot wound to the hand. Through investigation, detectives learned the victim was shot in the area of Ridgefield Road and Carol Street.
Detectives are seeking information about this crime.
