Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced two people have been injured in a shooting which occurred in the Marydale community in Thibodaux on Tuesday afternoon. The injuries are reportedly not life-threatening.

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call about the shooting at around 4:40 p.m., and deputies responded to the scene. Deputies discovered a gray sedan with bullet holes and shattered glass. They also learned a second vehicle, a white car, involved in the incident had arrived at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.

Through investigation, detectives have learned that the injured parties were passengers in the vehicles. They are being detained for questioning in reference to the incident. The driver of one of the vehicles has also been detained for questioning. Investigators are attempting to locate the second driver for questioning.

The investigation into this incident is continuing.
